Where will the ISHOF end up?

Ft Lauderdale3Ever since 1965 the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) has been located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After a 50-year contract with the city, ISHOF has decided to relocate in October 2015. Despite a renovated swimming complex slated for Fort Lauderdale on the same site, ISHOF said it isn’t part of their vision which is to include more swimmers than the competitive group.

Not only that, but ISHOF CEO Bruce Wigo said, “We have come to realize that the problems we have had with the City since at least 2000, and which we have been unable to resolve since, stem from the fact that our organization’s vision of the future and the City’s vision for their new Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex are not in alignment.”Ft Lauderdale

The ISHOF museum, which houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of aquatic memorabilia, coupled with induction ceremonies, “annually attract the leadership and leading personalities of the Olympic sports of swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming, and the global leaders of lifesaving, learn-to-swim, aquatic recreation and aquatic wellness.”

Potential new locations include San Diego, CA, and Santa Clara, CA. What do you think? Where would you like to see it located?
